To ensure that all animals in Sweden have the conditions to live the best life possible, there are the District Veterinarians. With round-the-clock readiness, clinics across the country, and unique knowledge of animal health, we contribute to healthier animals and a safer life. As district veterinarians, we work on behalf of private individuals, companies, and authorities. We offer essential services for emergency veterinary care, disease control, and preventive measures for good animal health. Always with our feet on the ground and our hearts in the right place. The District Veterinarians are part of the Swedish Board of Agriculture.

Welcome to the District Veterinarians Kristianstad!

Our clinic is located in Vä, a few kilometers southwest of Kristianstad. Here, you are equally close to nature as to the central parts with shopping, restaurants, and culture. Kristianstad is a city that is constantly growing and has good communication connections.

Currently, ten veterinarians, one licensed veterinary nurse, four animal caregivers at different levels, and one team leader work at our clinic. The clinic is bright and fresh, designed to create a good flow for both patients, pet owners, and staff. We are well-equipped with digital X-ray, dental X-ray, ultrasound, dental units, blood analysis, and an operating department. For fieldwork, there is access to ultrasound, endoscopes for colic, and soon also direct digital portable X-ray. The clinic has a well-visited pet food store where we also sell various supplements, shampoos, and aids for both small animals and horses.

Our small animal clinic is open every weekday and is staffed daily by several veterinarians. We take care of preventive measures such as vaccinations, castrations, and dental treatments, as well as performing various forms of soft tissue surgery. We also accept patients of a more urgent nature. We invest heavily in our small animal operations, which means there are good development opportunities.

Work with cattle is often of an urgent nature, but also includes a fair amount of surgery, such as cesarean sections, colic, and hoof diseases. We also have several farms where we work preventively on a continuous basis.

Our equine practice is mostly of an urgent nature, but we also have a number of planned visits such as inspections, dental treatments, investigations, etc. Some of our veterinarians also work with artificial insemination. Official assignments occur for both horses and cattle.

We are a cheerful group with a very good community and supportive colleagues. We value good camaraderie all around and see it, together with our competence and service, as our strengths.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a veterinarian with us, you have the opportunity to work broadly and variably with all species of animals, but there is also room to develop within a specific species or area. We constantly strive for high quality in what we do. We see it as natural to share knowledge and experience with each other. Everyone is equally important, and everyone contributes to making our workplace pleasant and forward-looking. We have round-the-clock readiness, all year round, which means that night and weekend work is part of the job. Sometimes you work alone, but you are never alone.

We continuously work on competence development, and we see your development in your work as our best investment.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed veterinarian. If you have worked for a few years and have experience in small animal practice or equine practice, that is an advantage, but even if you are new to the profession, you are welcome to apply. We place great importance on personal qualities, and as a person, you have good communication skills, are responsive to the needs of customers and patients, flexible, and see challenges as an opportunity to grow both personally and in your professional role. You are capable of taking responsibility and working systematically in a dynamic environment. To apply for this position, a veterinary license and a B driver's license are required. Good knowledge of Swedish and good computer skills are also fundamental requirements. We conduct ongoing selection and interviews.

Warm welcome with your application!
